I wonder how the next major social change will be? There was the Agricultural Evolution....the The Industrial Evolution.....

there is talk of the "Information Age" or whatever but we are not really living so different from the 80s......still cooking our own foods....cleaning our own houses......driving our own cars......flying "cattle-class" for the average peasant......the same conumer/wage-slavery condition......so the Information Age is just an extension of the TV/RADIO/Telephone as a means of entertainment and communication, no huge change like the Agriculture Evolution or Industrial Evolution

but this AMAZING TECH EVOLUTION has given the peasantry the power to click a button and buy FlimFlam from their Tech-Screen instead of looking through a catalog and using a land-line!

It's automation. When most cars are electric and drive themselves totally that will change everything.

RE: An Entertaining Vid to Challenge the Thinking - EVILYOSHIDA - 10-03-2020 03:43 PM

what's the point of automation when people have nothing left to do

automation and efficiency is unnatural.

people need to work. they can't just sit around like pod people eating food and watching netflix.

we must de-industralize.

we can keep some aspects of high tech, but in some ways we have to go backwards.

They'll do the same thing they would do with your beloved UBI except organically, not based on fiat money handed out.

Driving a truck isn't easy but it isn't creative, it doesn't build character and expand the human mind. It's robot work. Similar to the idiot at taco bell screwing up your order that you just told him. Now, you can tap your own order at the kiosk and they can go mop or something instead.

Humans will find other things to do with their time besides sit and hold a steering wheel, turn bolts, load shelves, and other mind-killing menial tasks.

People also asked what will people do when they get rid of horses?

RE: An Entertaining Vid to Challenge the Thinking - EVILYOSHIDA - 10-03-2020 04:15 PM

there comes to a point where it's too much.

we have gotten to that point.

People need to do things.

not everyone can be a creative... and the struggle of life is part of its charm.

they are trying to create a world where the sun never sets.

Very good point. Tech should be used in places where work is mundane and tedious.

Humans need free time to develop themselves and their abilities. But that also means that they should't be driven toward a hedonistic instant pleasure model of life cause that is a degradational process.
