Regardless of whatever he is benefiting, my point is that he is effectively denigrating Christianity, by acting like a strange dancing loon while promoting theories that the mass of people don't accept (whether you do or not). This is how disruption works. There really are people who join groups they don't like and act outrageous, even if you might think that they are providing some kind of "service".

If his motivation is that he believes in Orthodoxy, then why is he pretending to be a monk when he isn't and why is he running a campaign and asking for donations when the Orthodox Church tells him to stop? Why doesn't he talk about the substance of faith, doctrine, etc., but rather presents unusual ideas in a way the mass of people will instantly reject? If a Christian "evangelist" looks like a total whacko, disobeys his denomination, and then makes 300 movies attacking Islam, one cannot assume that he is actually trying to benefit "his cause" or whatever.

You cut the part of my answer that addresses your questions. You can read it over again if it helps.
I did read the rest of what you wrote. Probably most of his videos are very hostile to the Jewish community and some include outright white ethnic nationalism, which does not match Christianity. Yet on his website, doesn't he say that he uses Jewish attorneys? This is besides the fact that he is not actually a monk in his church. Things don't add up, I am afraid.

Does it say, "I, Brother Nathanael, use Jewish attorneys"?

He exposes Jewish attacks against White people and other groups. It's unfortunate more Christians don't do the same.

Quote:Fr. John, a priest in southern California, who claims to have known Kapner for a year while he was at the Buena Vista monastery has authored an online piece criticising him.[5] The priest claims that Kapner admitted to him that he suffered from mental illness; obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and bipolar disorder. He claimed that Kapner had spent time in several mental hospitals.[5] John Sanidopoulos, who runs the popular Orthodox blog Mystagogy,[11] claims that Kapner was never made a monk, that he was only ever a novice and then a sub-deacon. For this Kapner has been criticised for wearing a pectoral cross, the skufia and performing blessings with a cross as if he were a priest. As well as this, his unusual facial expressions and dancing as if he was mocking Orthodoxy has been pointed out, but this may be attributed to his mental illness, rather than whether or not he is genuinely a Christian convert.[note 2]

I'm part of the "whole Bible movement"...which is still a relatively small sect of believers...Wink

I'm really appreciating a lot of what Hebrew Roots teaches but some of their self-proclaimed "leaders" are over the top, claiming Paul was a heretic or that Yeshua was not the only begotten Son of Yahweh.

Messianic Judaism is similar but tends to be converted Jews who still adhere to Rabbinic Judaism(in some ways) and their often pagan traditions. Just like Protestants who left the Catholic fold but kept much of its pagan traditions.

There aren't very many non-infected traditions these days and if I ever find a perfectly Biblical church I will be careful not join for fear of fucking it up.

RE: Jewish Converts to Christianity. A list.
BTW, there are a lot of terms used willy nilly these days that don't add up to me.

People tend to use the word "Jew" to refer to the ancient peoples of the OT who received instruction from Yahweh. It might be odd for many to realize that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob WERE NOT JEWS. It wasn't until the Northern Kingdom split from the Southern one (referred to as Judah) that the term even began to exist. This was after Solomon's reign.

Today it seems to have become a national identity as well as a religion. Neither of which is consistent with Christianity. Many Jewish converts to an acceptance that Yeshua is the future Messiah King do NOT suddenly become "Christian" but instead choose the term Messianic Jew. The two are not synonymous. These converts seem to at least understand that the Sabbath, for instance, never changed to Sunday. Or that Yeshua did not "do away with" His Father's Torah. They don't celebrate pagan traditions like Christmas and Easter but instead keep the Feasts of Yahweh (which were NEVER JUST JEWISH FEASTS).

Another one is using the term "Gentile Believer" or "Gentile Christian" by Christians themselves. What they don't seem to realize is that they are in effect calling themselves "out of covenant believers". I don't understand why you would want to describe yourself this way as if it were a term of endearment. The Bible I read says Yahweh wants everyone IN covenant with him. He only sees two distinctions, in or out/Hebrew or Gentile.

Cheers.

As I was saying...

He's eccentric but also very bright, and he exposes Jewish supremacy.

Nothing contradictory about his bio and behaviour.

Why is this priest revealing this type of information, anyway?

But doing so at least debunks the conspiracy nonsense around Bro. N.'s behaviour.

The other thing is that Kapner was not even a novice in his current church, ROCOR. He was one previously and temporarily in a breakaway church that ROCOR doesn't recognize. A novice monk is only a probationary, temporary step anyway. It's like a free trial period for product testing by a customer.

It's like being a Protestant novice monk and then becoming Catholic. The person would not be a novice monk anymore on becoming Catholic.

But, at the same time, have no problem with accepting the scores of Jewish people who identify themselves as Agnostics and Atheists as part of the authentic Jewish community.

What gives?

How come believing in Jesus makes a Jew not a Jew?

But being a Jew who doesn't believe in God at all is perfectly fine?

I guess I don't understand.

Excellent question, Mr. Dean. Very well framed.

It appears that the ethnic tribalism aspects of Judaism are more important than the religious aspects. Stated differently, Jewish people seem to have major concerns with the religious beliefs (or lack thereof) of a Jewish person only when the cohesiveness of the ethnic tribe is threatened.

One could claim the same thing about David Icke or some of the sketchier 9/11 "truthers". There are better speakers with more information and less weirdness. They throw in a certain amount of dissident truth that attracts people, but also mars his audience in the eyes of most people by association. All most people need to do is watch him on the street being extremely goofy, hear that the whackjob is anti-semitic (he is, by the way, a white nationalist), and conclude that he and part of his audience are nuts, which may have some truth to it.

Would a good politician want Kapner as a campaign activist, on the justification that at least Kapner was getting out information about his candidacy? The answer is no, because Kapner effectively discredits whatever ideology he is outwardly promoting. The fact that he has the right white and left black gloves like Baphomet's hands should send up a red flag.

In what sense is he a White nationalist? Perhaps start by defining the term so we're speaking the same language.

He exposes a lot and doesn't mince words. Like Atzmon, his message is all the more effective by the fact that he's an ex-Jew.

I watched some of his movies. He expressed either support for white nationalist groups, expressed explicit white racial ideas, or both.

You mean like mincing words about whether he is a monk?
He used to be a salesman, didn't he?

Was he previously working in the "halls of power", was he previously deeply religious, or was he in Israeli society like Atzmon? I don't think that he has some kind of special information that other Americans don't.

Provide examples.

Also, what exactly do you object about "White nationalist" groups?

He speaks honestly about Jewish supremacy and provides many examples of such behaviour.

An ex-Jew speaking as he does is always a powerful tool against Zionism. It's exactly why someone like Atzmon is a greater threat to the Jewish establishment than like-minded non-Jewish critics.

there are not that many real christians out there.

Arch Neo-Con Joe Biden is supposed to be Catholic. lmfao @ that.

This is the problem with Christianity, it can be used to justify anything because it relies on a book and interpretations.

at its best it is angelic, but most of its time it doesn't reach those heights. people use it as a crutch or some excuse.
