Conor VS Aldo = Machida vs Shogun
Stylistically. Karate southpaw with a lightening straight left vs a muaythai specialist.

However, these are the differences.

Conor has a lot more 1 punch power than Machida did at LHW. You can see how aggressive and confident he is with his power and his opponents literally stiffen up and forego any bravery as soon as they taste it.

The main reason Shogun was successful against Machida is because he literally ate a counter straight almost every time he threw a leg kick. He had an amazing beard back then. Machida just COULD NOT hurt him. Period.

just from a pure physics and power analysis stand-point, Conor will hurt Aldo and drop him at least once. But Aldo will get to them legs.

most of his shots either glanced or missed altogether though. Shogun was leading with low kicks every time, which prevented Machida from finding the proper balance to land flush shots.

RE: Conor VS Aldo = Machida vs Shogun
machida is actually very unorthodox fighter, unpredictable and hard to read

feints in striking win over all at this level, when preceded with combinations. The best way to eliminate a kickers chance or a ground fighters chances are fast hands, good footwork and exceptional balance

If Connor makes it through the leg kicks and has an answer for them he can win this fight

RE: Conor VS Aldo = Machida vs Shogun
I expect Connor to be well prepared for the angriest leg kicks the world has ever seen.

Over the years, Aldo has deviated from his offensive grappling. I expect those skills to make a return for this fight.

shogun's chin straight up in the air as he jumped into this punch. still never dropped.

if conor lands a punch similar to aldo, he will go out.

aldo has been dropped just last fight by mendes. who is 5'4.

RE: Conor VS Aldo = Machida vs Shogun
Machida has no power in his hands. I guess he lacks tendon strength

RE: Conor VS Aldo = Machida vs Shogun
Machida actually doesn't lack power, he's just really small and his activity level is low.

if a guy like Shogun throws 50 punches a round and Machida only throws 10. Shogun will be more likely to score a KO just based on stats. Machida is not throwing enough bullets out there to bag bodies.

For his size his power is good. look at him at 185, his power is a lot more pronounced now than at LHW.

Easily one of the worst breakdowns I have seen in a while.....

RE: Conor VS Aldo = Machida vs Shogun
similar style matchup of karate vs muay thai.

not only that Conor is a southpaw just like Machida with the signature straight left. SHogun and Aldo are orthodox MT fighters with a heavy leg kick game.

this is rare at the highest level which made Machida/Shogun so intriguing.

i have probably the best fight analysis in the game because i pick the winner better than the bookmaker.

The Aldo/Shogun comparison is weak...Aldo has way better hand's and movement compared Shogun......Conor is gonna get starched.

Man is disturbed not by things, but by the views he takes of them.

RE: Conor VS Aldo = Machida vs Shogun
Prime Shogun is just as good as Aldo relative to their weight classes.

Aldo is much smaller so his striking is going to look more crisp.

VS Machida, that was the last time we saw Shogun in top form.
