RE: Chris Weidman vs Lyoto Machida
I was shouting at the TV to get him to go for the kill in 4 and 5, but I just think Machida had been beaten up and made to work too much in the first three rounds. He just didn't have much left in the tank by the 4th. If he ever gets another shot at Weidman, he might make sure he finds his distance and rhythm early. Weidman is very impressive as champ. The nest few years at middleweight should be good.

And then he repeated this strategy early in the 5th when Weidman seemed to still be recovering. By the middle of the round, Weidman had somewhat recovered and got the takedown.

Hard to watch that fight, but I'll give credit to Weidman - he's the real deal. I thought his two wins over Silva were a bit fortunate, but I can see now that he's elite.

Still, I think Machida could have finished the fight in the 4th or 5th if he had he gone forward after dazing Weidman. Machida was way too hesitant in the latter rounds and it cost him.

agreed. just a bit more follow through. the issue is he does accumulative damage and doesn't have one shot KO power generally. he was landing clean but he needs many to finish.

Weidman definitely looked beatable today though.

i would like to see a rematch between the 2.

Exactly.

Machida probably got hit more times in this fight than his entire career put together. Also, has he ever been taken down this many times in a fight?

Weidman impressed me. I think he's beatable, but he definitely deserves to be in his position.

Carmont and Davis laid on him to a decision if I remember correctly

i am betting Machida will win the rematch.

Machida needs to get on the western scientific diet and training program.

american wrestlers are probably the top in all of MMA wrt conditioning.

RE: Chris Weidman vs Lyoto Machida
Weidmans chin saved him in that fight. I thought lyoto landed some great shots and weidman just walked through them. he looked concussed at the end. I'm betting there's a good part of that fight he doesn't remember.

I agree. Machida did far too little in the first three rounds. He also needed to switch from counter to attack mode in the fourth.

LMAO Weidman just went through a knee surgery on both knees and he's fighting the most advanced footwork in the business.

Weidman is going to get dominated. dropping big on this.

You didn't really, did you?

HOLY FUCK I GOT LUCKY LOL

this girl called me out. I put her above the UFC and didn't end up dropping the motherload. I was going to do about 1500 on this fight.

Dropped 500 only. whew. small loss.

I did put 1400 on Mitrione on tho. Struve looked shaky. too bad they didn't fight =(

RE: Chris Weidman vs Lyoto Machida
Weidman is real deal, I stand corrected any statement otherwise

Regardless if Machida hit him with huge shots, it didnt faze him, he came back for more, that chin will win him close fights because hes too well rounded otherwise for any opponent outside a passed test dodgily Vitor to beat.
He beats Machida again iMo.
