when the marriage union was still sacred.

Probably my favorite balad of all time. just simple love between 2 people over time. classic.

well it's a step by step process.

so romantic love was the first stage with the final goal being what we have now.

before marriage was partly about romantic love but also about bringing together 2 families.

most importantly marriage was about responsibility. you didn't necessarily marry the person you liked the most, but the one you were compatible with.

also promoting romantic love was also useful towards getting men/women to always be out for the "ONE" which also leads to instability in male/female relations.

the conspiracy is step by step.. it creeps.

back then this romantic stuff was seen as subversive too.. promoting unrealistic views about love.

i think the most non-subversive music is romantic music that evolves like nostalgia.. the good ol' days.

japanese music does a good job of this.

Fuck I'm trying to find the picture of a step by step breakdown of the children's moral through pop culture.

used to be lovy dovy

then steadily more scanty over time.

now all the kids are wannabe strippers.

yeah if it just stayed at the romantic stuff that would be cool.

but i think it was just the 1st step towards getting what we have now.

girls have to be infused with this idea of "the one" or "soul mate"

if they have these dreams, then they are more likely to stray.

same with guys too.

I was actually talking with my pageant girl yesterday....

she said that when she was back in India, listening to their music and watching their movies..... she felt very nostalgic about love. a feeling that's almost remote to her after living in the west for so long...... then as soon as she stepped foot back on Toronto soil, all that emotional clinginess just flies out the window, the music and culture here is much more fast paced. and you have to adapt because everyone else is like this. the more emotionally vulnerable person gets used.

so the state of mind went from

to

I agree 100 %.

Whenever I listen to this Chinese song...... all I feel is that I want a gf and love her with all my heart.

yeah. I thnk Asia for the most part has retained romantic elements in their pop culture.

Chinese pop is still more authentic in terms of love than western pop.

even when western pop artists sing about love.. they are not singing about other people.. they are basically singing to themselves.. getting high with vocal acrobatics.

or you get stuff like this that purports to sing about love... but it's more of a "one night thing"

like "tonight is fun.. let's bang" type of love.

NEW TIESTO. hot off the press.

the world is truly fucked.. but I think it can't get lower than this.

it's getting better from NOW!

even when japanese do the RNB thing.. it's still full of feeling.

westerners use the coin "sappy" or cheesy" to describe these.

but in reality they have just had these inclinations beat out of them through decades of LSD-infused psychedelic-sexual-raunch programming.

Those who know, know! Big Grin
