RE: Food shortages are coming.
so far, no shortages in my area, shelves are well stocked and good sales.....maybe I need to start "bulking" just in case "Winter's Coming"....having a healthy bodyfat % is a NATURAL SMART FEAST/FAMINE Survival Method and why animals(humans) are capable to storing that FAT Big Grin

how long you reckon a good BULK can get me through a Famine before they get the SoupLines up and running?

You don't need to bulk up physically, but you should be bulking up with essentials such as food with a long shelf life.

If you aren't doing that by now then you simply aren't paying attention.

RE: Food shortages are coming.
^we usually maintain a well supplied pantry due to the weekly Sales Shopping and I reckon that along with a Healthy BodyFat % should get me through some LEAN TIMES long enough for the SoupLines to get up and running and after the initial chaos and emotional panic to subside where people return to civilitiy after the initial fighting at the soup-lines and gas pumps

RE: Food shortages are coming.
probably also good to stock up on stuff you won't really eat normally..

I got some corned beef that I don't like to eat.. Australian tins.
beans might be a good idea as I would never eat them.

also when you have stuff you don't really like to eat, you eat less of it so it can prob last longer.

RE: Food shortages are coming.
As our very wise friend Redneck has suggested, keep stocking up fellas. The dumb bastards have fucked up bad and are landing us in a food shortage this fall by all accounts. And not just food, but fuel, all kinds of commodities, manufactured goods. Everything. The outlook looks bleak for North America, catastrophic for the EU, and it looks like a possible famine in the global south.

How relocating Americans created new inflation hot spots

“We saw right away that inflation was highest in Phoenix and lowest in San Francisco,” Redfin deputy chief economist Taylor Marr told CNBC.

The relationship between migration and inflation has strengthened significantly as more people relocate from expensive coastal cities to more affordable metro areas

Atlanta and Tampa are also among the metro regions seeing both hot inflation and the pandemic-related surge in homebuying.

not sure if related, but as stated in my posts, I don't see the FoodShortages which people in other areaas seem to experience and if one is a Conservative Bargain shopper in my area then they will find the same deals as usual. Gas is up I guess but since the GF and I do not need drive a significant daily distance we don't really notice much impact due to our Cosmopolitian Situation.
