RE: BASEBALL STADIUMS ARE COMPLETELY FULL IN TEXAS
Twenty-two players have tested positive on the Canucks now, as well as three coaches and three or four of the six taxi squad members. Of the main roster players, only two of Brock Boeser, Jamie Benn and JT Miller are thought to remain unaffected thus far. Interestingly Benn and Miller tested positive early this year when they reported to Vancouver from their off season homes in Dallas and Pittsburgh respectively and were required to quarantine. Of the six players on the taxi squad only Loui Eriksson and Mike Dipietro are thought to remain clean.

The players young families have been infected as well of course. Brandon Sutter's father Brent, an ex NHL player and head coach himself was on local sports radio earlier in the week and he indicated that his son was quite sick, and that his son's pregnant wife and their two very young children were also infected. Symptoms among the infected seem to run the gamut from slight or non existent to very ill.

*correction, star player Elias Pettersson also remains clean so far. He has been on the shelf with an injury lately and presumably was not practicing or travelling with the team in recent weeks.

Of course it's a very serious situation; this variant has cut the team to shreds. It seems like the only ones to escape so far have been a couple of players with previous infections and presumably some resistance to the virus, and two or three others that were injured or on the taxi squad who have had less contact with the group.

I personally do not see how they can resume play, I think the NHL is going to have to cancel the remainder of their schedule. Another team, the Dallas Stars, had covid infection run through their team before the season even started (not a variant) and that team was sidelined by the NHL for a couple of weeks. They have gone on to have a poor season (after reaching the Stanley Cup Finals last year) with some players performing well below expectations.

You should reach out to the Canucks medical staff. The whole city is on edge over this thing and the NHL is poised to cancel the rest of their season. The kind of breakthrough could be a game changer...

I wouldn't be quite so sure EY. A quick Google search revealed the following:

Quote:Symptoms of COVID-19 can vary from person to person. They may also vary in different age groups.

Some of the more commonly reported symptoms include:

new or worsening cough
shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
temperature equal to or over 38°C
feeling feverish
chills
fatigue or weakness
muscle or body aches
new loss of smell or taste
headache
gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting)
feeling very unwell

A fourth player, Jimmy Vesey, is also said to remain uninfected thus far. He was acquired on waivers recently and had escaped my mind. But yeah, there are four guys still testing negative. It seems like this thing was acquired at a local restaurant that has recently been designated as a hot spot. It's perhaps an after practice watering hole in the downtown core near the arena that is frequented by players.

But that's speculation on my part.

thanks for the info. I'm highly skeptical of this entire operation
doesn't mean people aren't getting sick
it was not unusual for many epople in close contact to all come down with a flu or cold in past years.
so even if an entire team got respiratory illness it would be similar to an office full of people all coming down with the same cold

Was Covid around in 2018?

Dodgers deal with an outbreak of flulike illness: ‘I haven’t seen anything like this’

A virus causing chills, fatigue and other flulike symptoms overtook the Dodgers on Wednesday. The number of affected totaled 24 or 25, manager Dave Roberts said. The team sent the ill home. The medical staff hoped the symptoms would subside in one to three days, Roberts said.

I swear these PSYOPS only work because people literally have the attention span of goldfish.
