Marijuana activates the novelty centers of the brain, it can be good or bad. Depends on the individual's critical thinking skills, and the terpene profile of the particular cannabis strain.

There's no "communist takeover". Communist takeover would be either:
A. the Communist Party taking over (eg. China), or else
B. government-less common ownership of production and distribution based on needs. Public schools and libraries would be economically considered "communist" if the government were an Anarchy. Typically this is considered Utopian.
