I think they don't get it. I hear complaints from people who are brain-glued into rightwing False-Alt news like Breitbart about Big Bad China being responsible for the power outtage based on the claim that "China" controls the energy production.

Yeah, I didn't realize that PRIVATIZATION was involved, but that would explain it. Power Deregulation played a role in the California power outtages a few years ago. Obviously when you leave a Market like the energy market in private hands where there are only one possible suppliers of the product at any given moment, something can go wrong and there is less oversight or ability for society to regulate and solve the problem. It's not like you as a customer can just choose a different private company for your power if there is only one available.

I hope Ted Cruz is drinking a beer while playing blackjack. If you have the means to get your family out of Texas for this and didn't you would be a shitty husband/father.

So much wrong with this disaster.

1. Texas gets about 23 percent of its energy from fkn windmills which froze. Yes all forms of energy underperformed but wind took by far the heaviest hit.

2. Texas privatised its energy and the members of the board do not live in Texas. They could have winterized everything in 2011 but they didn't.
