If anyone should have been fired, it should have been Buffer. He is the worst ring announcer in the industry that I've heard and I've said it from day 1. This guy got a free ride thru life. He is so overrated, it's mind boggling. His voice is terrible, his slogan sucks, and he makes more then most fighters.

Buffer is one guy who hit the jackpot in life. He was in the right place at the right time and had the name recognition from his brother.

I can't stand hearing his voice.

Now the BKFC announcer is pretty good. He has a good slogan. His "It's time" slogan is much more creative then Buffer's...

Anik is by far the blandest of them all among all the major orgs. He sounds like a generic NCAA basketball announcer. If the new owners don't like Goldberg they could've replaced him with Mauro, or even Bruce Beck from the old SEG UFC who was great.

He had great chemistry with Bas. You cold tell it was a legit friendship and they absolutely loved going to Japan and doing those shows. Quadros was sort of like that as well, but Mauro is the better announcer of the two.

yeah it was genuine. I remember everyone giving him shit and even some people like crocop picked on him

I already knew he was a good commentator back then.

Good times here. From August 28, 2002 still had that old, care-free 90s vibe.

this stuff would still look modern if the video quality was a bit better.
the american versions always had inferior graphic design for the titles and design bits.

it was a diff. time back then. people were less gaslighted.

the amount of gaslighting now is insane.

things can't be things anymore

it all has to be tied into this culturalmarxistracismideology matrix

they have successfully managed to enslaved people's minds and souls. You can't afford to be genuine these days, one small mistake and your career , reputation and life are over. People are under a lot of pressure at all times.

that is exactly how people were living under communism and during the ascent of communism.

it's not new, but it's even worse because the mob that gets you doesn't have to be physically there. they mob you online and try to destroy you.

i already knew back in the early 2000s that shit like Pride or the good times like that would not last.

I knew at the time that this shit was already a classic and savored every moment.

Look at UFC now.. it's actually MORE STALE than even classic SEG UFC.. it's less entertaining. it's devoid of any soul or passion.

yeah there is a lot of things that you miss in hindsight and consider a classic. PRIDE is one those where you come to this realization as it's still happening. There's only a few times in your life where you look around and think "I'm living in a very special time right now". The anticipation for every show was immense, would build up for months, and they delivered far above what you expected, every single time. And getting better year after year, in all aspects. Production, fighters, rules, tournaments, etc.
