^ I think it's a lame gimmick. If they just wanted smaller boxing gloves with less padding that could have been easily achieved.
Why would they have fingerless gloves in a sport with no grappling? The chances of eye pokes is significant. |

prob because some of the fights is mixed rules
they switch from full MMA to standup only between rounds |
