current reading commentary on wingNUTS
from my current book-reading I have discovered that it seems like YESTERDAY'S Catholic/Protestant Rivalry is not so different from TODAY'S RepubliCON/DemoCAD Rivalry, though so far, I think the level of violence in YESTERDAY'S Rivalry has not yet been achieved

reading about this history of this in Europe....some good Fence-Reading Big Grin

^sure there is similarity in how one can observe how human nature is very emotional and how that emotion influences behavior and/or how it can be exploited

the same emotion fueling yesterday's rivalry is what fuel's today's rivalry

why do people today read Marcus Aurelius, Machiavelli, and ancient spiritual/religious/philosophical teachings if things today are so different from yesterday? Technology changes but human nature probably hasn't evolved too much since the time of Alexander, Cesar, Cleopatra, and Khan......

it's why I believe in Social-System Evolution as similar to the BOOM/BUST Cycle and result of Technological Progress yet at the same time observing that yesterday/today human nature is somewhat of a constant and it is also that nature which contributes to the Social Boom/Bust Cycle of Government/Societies

just finished reading that Sugar Ray Robinson book and the HumanRights/Equality protests and Social Unrest in the 50s/60s/70s were as bad then as today and I believe more people died in those protests......not to mention the UNION vs CAPITALISM rivalry
