Yeah i remember renting this game once. Even then i was surprised how violent this game was. Gameplay wise it not that great but the style created a haunting atmosphere. Maybe i'll get it on the PS4 now its also available as i learned today

Games today are designed to keep you glued to the screen for as long as possible.

MGS brought the game into the world and the world into the game. I remember how one of the characters on the intercom told you to take breaks every couple of hours away form the TV screen.

The first day I played MGS, I went out sneaking around the neighborhood at night.

MGS V was too complicated for smooth brains to understand.

It is anti-war in the simple sense that the mechanics REWARD you for NOT killing enemy soldiers, but rather, knocking them out and air-lifting them (Fulton Recovery) back to your mercenary base.

Most people probably never even clued on to that, just playing it like they would play Call of Duty. Myself, I played almost the entire 2nd chapter of the game, that takes place in Africa, without killing a (white) mercenary. The reasons for that I will let people guess, but I suppose sentimentality is a good way to describe it.

I'm currently playing Control. A game that came for free with the PSplus

Until now i am definetly not dissapointed. The game has interesting game mechanics and also the story telling (in for about 2hrs) is very compelling. They did an excellent job on the communist/cold war vibe with the unexplained alien entities and your abilities

I'm sorry CR will never play this because of a female protagonists but Control seems to be my surprise of 2021 already
