RE: JumpRope versus PELOTON$
they say ignorance is bliss.

only someone who doesn't care about their grey matter would choice to have it pummeled for a living.

the smartest athletic man in history probably since Alexander the Great, stuck to low impact exercise.

RE: JumpRope versus PELOTON$
.
Jumping rope is not good for me any more. I used to do that when I was boxing but now I need low impact. Snow skiing accident followed by months of basketball on asphalt left me damaged. So now I take long walks and ride my bike. Then I do some pushups, situps and bent over rows on one side at a time with a 35lb dumbell. I'm older now and this sustains my fitness well enough.

RE: JumpRope versus PELOTON$
^walking is a reasonable evolution for aging. I don't really buy into the 50s is new 30s and all that. 30s is 30s and 50s is 50s and so on. Unfortunately we must bear the experience of aging while we try to make the most of it as we evolve our methods to live our best life given the conditions which will be unique for each person's experience.

I do believe there is some truth to the "use-it-or-lose-it" it where we avoid some discomfort which allows for more of that aging stiffness to settle-in which perhaps accelerates the aging process.

perhaps some of the reason is that we have problems with moderation. Food, drink, marijuana, exercise.....people tend to be excessive. So we think jumping rope for 3 60 second sessions a few times a week to try to maintain mobility is useless if we can't do those 5 sets of 5 minute rounds. As we age it seems less is more and there is a cruel irony I heard by Clint Eastwood talking about this cruel fate where he stated something about how "the older we get the more effort we have to make when it should be the other way around"(because the older we get it's harder to make that effort so would be more logical if younger people had to work harder)

and probably the worst thing we can do is compare ourselves to the genetic exceptionals.......those rare minority % of people which are like X-Men and are the equivalent of a physical genius....not something one can really cultivate with 10,000 hours practice
