the thing about plastic surgery is that it usually doesn't end up well for most people

you have to keep doing it because the surgeon can't account for your natural facial aging

that's how they turn into monstrosities later on

Why assume it was just the plastic surgery though?

If the women were kept from their families for months, and they don't have to DO anything, just basically recover for the next surgery, then wouldn't that naturally have had an effect as well?

They suddenly think of themselves as TV stars, not mothers, wives, grandmas, caretakers...

Not discounting the impact of the surgery itself, of course. But the being pampered, and told you are important and special, and 'too good' for the life you are eventually returned to? That is just fuel for resentment, as is much of modern 'feminism'.
