Awesome post , rezin. So libertarians and classic liberals are basically right about soviet economy being part private. I just never heard that from someone with first hand knowledge of Russia and Soviet history until now.

Quote:Khrushchev arranged “perestroika-1” in the country and inflicted several heavy, almost fatal blows on the Russian (Soviet) power and the people. He abandoned the Stalinist course of development, which turned the USSR into the advanced civilization of mankind. From building a society of service, knowledge and creation. The Soviet elite refused development, chose "stability", which ultimately led to the destruction of Soviet civilization.

I wonder if this will be the fate of China one day as well.

I think they are getting ready to dismantle the communist regime. but it will be controlled and soft landing

then China will join the globalist technocracy, but it will resemble what China is today still.

High Tech Surveillance state capitalism

not long ago they were seemingly in the opposite direction with the social credit system and hostile takeover of Hong Kong. But with this scamdemic now it looks like they are again converging with globalists.

Xi is likely a globalist collaborater.

prior to Xi they were going more towards the Russia State Capitalism route.

Seems like both China and Russia have joined the New World Order.

At which time were the most gulags active?

I know there is a reason the gulags were generally concerned with mining and refining gold.

It was Stalin's time, ie. the late 1920's-1953. Not long after his death they started getting closed. They generally closed in the mid 1950's, but of course some prisons stayed open. But in general the prison/concentration camp system closed in the 1950's.

To some extent it started during the Russian Civil War to imprison Whites, but that was more of the precursors to the GULAG. It didn't officially begin until 1930.
