@ESPNStatsInfo
Conor McGregor landed 19 significant strikes on his way to the TKO victory.

Donald Cerrone did not land a single strike.

usually you can tell a fight is legit when BOTH SIDES land HARD STRIKES.. usually you can rule out a work

the CERRONE guy landed nothing and basically was taking shots

there might be something to the theory of a one sided work that MCG was unaware of

RE: Nate Diaz : Mcgregor/Cerrone "this shit is all fake"
.
What bothered me was how Cerrone just stood there for 4 straight shoulder strikes rather than doing something, ANYTHING to defend himself. Why not create distance? Why not level change?

Some people seem to think that when Conor opened with that wild left hand and missed his knee hit Cerrone and stunned him badly.

I don't know but it looks like Conor/Khabib 2 is being set up next. Hopefully Tony upsets the plan.

IDK how you guys can watch that fight and not be amazed.

"Durr durrr Cowboy threw the fight!"

What should Cowboy have done differently? Not ducked the left-hand blitz? Known the leaping shoulder-butts were coming? Have seen out of 1-eye that Conor was loading up a head-kick against a 3" taller opponent, instead of the straight-left that everyone is training for? At what point of that blitz should Cerrone have thrown strikes in your expert opinions?

That was the most entertaining s*** since Pride and so many fans are too bitter to enjoy it.
The dialogue went from "Cerrone is going to crush him!" to "Cerrone always sucked!" to "Cerrone threw the fight!"

Yeah the guy who beat Jeremy Stevens, Edson Barboza, Eddie Alvarez, Benson Henderson, Alex Olivera, Patrick Cote, Matt Brown and Al Iaquinta is a can.

Give me a break.

What's that expression? "Tonight's main event will determine which fighter was never any good."

not saying it was fake,

at first I didn't see it as baloney, but there was an artificial vibe about the victory

and the unblocked shoulder shots were a bit fishy. When you are hurt generally you try to go for a takedown and I don't recall seeing CERRONE do that.

Also Conor is too important for the UFC for him to lose to a fluke

also you cannot discount the "pro" analysis of someone like NATE

sure he wants a rematch, but at the same time I def. think he's sincere about thinking the match is bogus

On this with KungFool

Those shoulder punches are with his full bodyweight behind it..

Ever got a solid punch on the nose? I’ll take it over a shoulder shot LOL

McGregor just showed again why Darwin is right

Not the strongest will survive but the ones who can adapt

Cerrone didn’t know what hit him

Cowboy is 4-7 over his last 11 fights. He was on a 2 fight losing streak (via TKO) when Conor faced him.

This fight really tells me nothing other than Cowboy needs to take a year off before fighting again. I would look good against a guy also if he stood there like a grappling dummy and let me keep shoulder striking him.

So he let Conor break his nose with the shoulder-butts? Rolleyes

Point to the moment where Cerrone had an opportunity for a takedown and passed it up. The actual fight was won in about 15 seconds. You could play this same dumb game with the Aldo fight. "Why didn't Aldo go for a takedown!" -- uhh.. because he threw 1 punch and got KO'd instead. Point is, you could make the claim about not trying for the takedown if it was a 3-5 Round fight, not in a 40 second fight.

Lol. Is this a serious post?

There is so much wrong with this logic I don't even know where to start.
