So what's the defense to a shoulder-strike smart guy?
Oh that's right, no one has ever used them like that in the history of the sport.

Anyone who has serious striking training will tell you that knowing the defense to a move isn't worth much unless you've practiced it to the point where it's committed to muscle memory.

So how many times in his life do you think Cerrone has drilled defending jumping shoulder-strikes?

Lol. Is this a serious post?

There is so much wrong with this logic I don't even know where to start.

Sorry EY but on this with KungFool again LOL

Nate is tough MF and excellent fighter. But him callin this fake is only good for his exposure and has nothing to do with analysis

EY takes a one line tweet from a former rival of McGregor's, with a financial motive to fight him again and calls it 'professional analysis'.

Is Nate unbiased? Did Nate use reason and evidence to substantiate his claim? Does that carry more weight than the 100's of other 'pros' that are saying the opposite?

Are you serious? You think just standing there getting hit like that without moving is a good response.

Push opponent away. Create space. Get on a bicycle. Drop down for a takedown. Throw a punch. Something!

Do anything except stand there and get blasted. Good grief!

Can’t believe people still think this was set up

If you can’t see the damage he does with those unexpected shots, keeping the arms of Cerrone stuck and deliver 2/3 shots in seconds with full force from the ground up you either haven’t been hit properly once during sparring or you are discarding Newton’s laws of motion

Cerrone didn’t know what hit him and wasn’t prepared for the amount of force coming from the shoulder shots

McGregor practiced this unconventional move to get out of the Muay Thai Clinch which is Cerrone’s trick card and it worked

Adapt to new circumstances or die

McGregor is a beast

Because.. pull out with your guard low and eat a left or right hook

McGregor was well prepared and I bet he had multiple outcomes predicted while executing this move

And from Cerrones background in Muay Thai he is used to keep the opponent close in the clinch and be the one who creates distance to off balance or deliver knees to the opponent

The only thing he could have done was keeping his head up

But his arms where stuck so the risc of a blistering left or right hook after poking your head up would be huge - Muay Thai 101

The move from McGregor was as simple as it was effective and will definetly change the MMA game

The same as foot stomping did

RE: Nate Diaz : Mcgregor/Cerrone "this shit is all fake"
I can see the points being made for/against this being a Fake Fight and my feeling:

hard to say on this one. The financial incentive to get McGregor winning again is attractive to those which would benefit. Then there is also the very real skill factor, Conor is a uniquely talented fighter. There is a very real history of Fixing in Fightsport so it's not unreasonable for fans to question this fight but perhaps it's also a case of Rocky Marciano was not fighting the best version of Joe Lewis smartly put together by investors which stand to gain from a Conor WIN.
