It's something i've always inherently known was bullshit, but the photo and that article by the journalist really help to support this idea. I mean, it's been over 20 years, and not one polaroid has emerged of the supposed attrocities, yet Tank Man was strutting about for the cameras like he was Lady Gaga, so you can't say that the Chinese regime had banned cameras.

I'm just trying to figure this shit out like you are.

RE: Tiananmen Square - The zoomed out shot
yep and the fact that it was incited by anti-african riots is something NO ONE ever talks about. this shit is legit

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanjing_ant...n_protests

Aftermath[edit]

In January, three of the African students were deported for starting the brawl. The other students returned to Hohai University and were required to follow new regulations, including a night-time curfew, having to report to university authorities before leaving the campus, and having no more than one Chinese girlfriend whose visits would be limited to the lounge area. Guests were still required to be registered.

Anti-African demonstrations spread to other cities, including Shanghai and Beijing.[1] These were smaller than the Nanjing protests, though the Beijing protests were one of the currents that led to the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.

Quote:The Chinese government has maintained that there were no deaths within the Square itself. Jay Mathews, former Beijing bureau chief for the Washington Post said "as far as can be determined from the available evidence, no one died that night in Tiananmen Square".[114] Videos taken there at the time recorded the sound of gunshots but there is no video showing anyone being shot.

Peopel don't talk about soldiers being burned alive inside their tanks.. and also soldiers hanging from a burnt out bus.

LOL. imagine if OWS did that to cops or military.

they'd literally be mowed down.

Absolutely, and there are far worse images of the police or military commiting acts of brutality upon protesters in western countries, than anything i've ever seen come out of China. And the argument that Chinese censorship prevented these images from being taken, or distributed via the internet, is complete bullshit

I'm just trying to figure this shit out like you are.

I'm guessing the protest was sizable enough that they wanted to ensure victory. In law enforcement terms, it is considered "a show of force." If in inmate acts up in our segregation unit, we don't send 1 guy to deal with. We send 6. Sometimes a show of force is enough to get somebody to reconsider their actions.

"Earnshaw confirms that most of the students had left peacefully much earlier and that the remaining few hundred were persuaded by the troops to do likewise."

This sort of confirms what I was saying.

If you are going to quell a riot/protest, the less police and military you send at it, the more inclined people are to fight. People fighting equals deaths on both sides. If I wanted to end a protest as blood free as possible, I would send in many more troops than what was needed, to discourage the protestors from wanting to fight.

I guess it didn't matter whether we elected Clinton or Trump.
