Education OVERDONE?
was it really necessary to spend that many years of toil and repetition?

I believe the Intellectuals will pursue higher-learning and that no matter how much you FORCE it on non-intellectuals it will not change their level and that in fact by OverDoing it will possibly result in fatigue.

I do believe a basic education of math, science, language to be necessary but all the homework and advanced learning is not really going to change the course of a person's life and instead robs them of the best years of their life which should be more enjoyed.

thoughts on this matter?

They WANT us to think history is boring. The sinking of the Lusitania is a perfect example. I remember we covered the topic in maybe 5 minutes at school, but spent days or weeks talking about the consequences of it (America enters WWI). They made it seem like it justified Canada's entrance as well, but really, Canada was entered because it was NOT EVEN A SOVEREIGN NATION at that point (arguable if it even is, at this point). So Canada was entered into the war by Great Britain, from the start.

But it turns out they lied for something like 80 years (!!!) about the fact that there were munitions on board. Munitions, tons and tons of it, using the 1000 civilians as HUMAN SHIELDS. And it gets better. A spokesperson for Germany told the press the day AFTER the sinking that there were munitions on board. So it should have been investigated (or believed) right from the start. Instead, it took 80 years for the Brits to come clean and admit this was true.

RE: Education OVERDONE?
I agree with Karasu's premise.

The current level of mass higher education is not sustainable. It's created a shortage of babies, a shortage of tradesman, a shortage of able bodied (legal) laborers (you can't apprentice in back breaking labor in your 30's), an abundance of debt, and an economic bubble.

The sooner the college bubble pops, the better. For all of us.

RE: Education OVERDONE?
its more about training you to wake up and show up, not for learning. Also going to a good school means you will interact with smarter and more connected people

Education OVERDONE?
College and education have nothing to do with being smart.

yes, very good observation, the current model is in opposition to our biology. Healthy reproduction is not 40s age

there is now formed a very ELITIST attitude about education which has become a new form of "racism" which was made visible during the last US Presidential Debates where we began to witness the rise of this Superiorism with the loose application of "UNEDUCATED whites" as a derogatory insult.

If anything, these days NOT going to get your Marxist indoctrination and pay for it, is smart.

RE: Education OVERDONE?
perhaps there are two different types of intelligence which humans have wrongly grown to dismiss one in favor of "progress" and its ability to cultivate "bling"

one type of smart: the science brain. can do complex math. an engineer

another type of smart: wisdom

it is more difficult to define "good" wisdom because it is grown from how each person uniquely experiences life and one person's wisdom may not be good medicine for another.

as a traditional gentleman of regular habit I have not experienced life from a GAY perspective. I have no doubt that I could learn some things from a GAY, compassion perhaps, but some of his wisdom may not be applicable to my condition.

When I was growing up, my older siblings told me I was smart, but had no street smarts.

Well... After that I became incredibly cynical, and through that, wise.
