I don't really see how reading qualifies as a fitness routine...

I walk while listening to a podcast or an audiobook, always wearing barefoot running-shoes, or I ride my beach cruiser, everyday when the weather is nice.

I'm a firm believer in barefoot living and being grounded.

It's good for the whole body.

how are you ever going to survive a "It Begins" without maintaining a reasonable standard of endurance fitness?

I'll be dead of old age before it begins.

No don't do a lot of long distance running because I prioritize strength and bulk. I do long distance hiking. That's acceptable cardio for powerlifters. I might do short weighted runs(30-40 lbs) on dirt trails or an elliptical to save the joints. Take joint supplements. Sometimes I also out 140 lbs weighted vest on and get on the elliptical and try to complete two kilometres as fast as possible. By the way for any Larper's and wannabe's here, many military skills type courses can be done in civilian schools( including some tactics). Some at even higher levels than in even elite units. For example, someone who spend all day at a gun range, or doing mma or civilian wilderness survival courses or sky diving, scuba diving etc. would have more hours of training than an elite military who doesn't specialize in any one of those particular things. They train in a broad range of things. Most time is spent on firearms and tactics.

Safer and more functional variations of the lifts, rather than the competition lifts. Sumo squat, Hammer strength deadlift, car deadlift, leg press, hip belt squat, weighted pushups, rack deadlift, weighted carries, floor press, weighted push ups, weighted dips, weighted chins, heavy ruck hikes, strong man type lifts, extra grip training etc....

"I do long distance hiking."------I think that qualifies as military endurance training
