Well... It wasn't entirely predictable, UFC 235.

Quite predictable, but I didn't think Usman would outwork, outgrind, and outwrestle Woodley for 5 rounds. Seems likely that is how GSP/Woodley would have looked, as well, although with more kicks from GSP, and perhaps struggling a bit more to get the takedowns.

Not a fight I would have wanted to see, TBH. GSP/Nurmagomedov would have been interesting though. Thanks WME

For the 'main' event, I just felt bad for Anthony Smith. Afraid to throw hands from Round 2 onwards. Just wanted to counter, so Jones threw kicks from range.

Weili Zhang looked decent. Not really my cup of tea, but she had good technique and power.

And Askren was getting smoked before grabbing that headlock/bulldog choke. I don't think the end there was that controversial. Maybe Lawler went out and came back, maybe he was just barely out. His arm went limp and apparently Herb Dean was talking to him.

It was an interesting card. The fights were good up unto the main event.

Smiths performance was shameful. I could tell he was going to waffle during the walkout. He looked like a deer in headlights.

The Lawler / Askren fight was the highlight of the night. I thought the stoppage was good and I would have made the same call.
Tucking your chin doesn't always save you from chokes, and from that position Ben was holding Robbie up, so even if Robbies whole body went limp, you wouldn't have seen much.
I think Robbie basically gave up on fighting it, and went out for a 1/2 second. "Intelligently Defending Yourself" would have required him to go belly down and turn in.

The slam was pretty awesome too. https://streamable.com/er903

How the hell is Usman making 170lbs? he looked like a light-heavyweight in there. Woodley was out-specimen'd by a much bigger version of himself.

Any reason to not do Askren vs Usman next?

Ben's noodly arms and love handles for two, Usman will rip his head off. He needs to either roid up or fight Khabib at 155lbs.

He looks like a software engineer that took off his shirt and put gloves on.

Might as well throw the top grapplers against each-other though.

Either have:

Usman vs Askren
Usman vs Maia
Askren vs Maia

Why not Khabib vs Askren though? Both wrestlers, both undefeated in MMA. They are closer in size too.
