video unavailable. which fight?

r b r scoring sucks... the fight needs to be judged as a whole

and finishing stronger needs to count for more

A draw should result in two co-champions

RE: Why round by round scoring sucks: Proof last night
Based on the Fury-Wilder scorecard/judging, I am beginning to wonder if they don't decide on the score before the fight. Didn't see it, but the judges all scored it wildly differently. And while it is easy to say it was the judge who scored it for Wilder that is crooked, it could just as well be that all 3 are in on it, to give a little bit of something for everyone.

One judge scores it for Fury, for Fury fans. One judge scores it a draw, so that it will be a draw. One judge scores it for Wilder, for Wilder fans (and to ensure the rematch).

Seems like even with the knockdowns Fury won most of the rounds (although whether that is a good way to determine a winner is a different question, bear in mind, on that evening they knew they would ostensibly be scored round by round, which affects your strategy and pacing).

Fury won 8 or 9 rounds on points. Wilder dropped him twice on later rounds, the last one basically KOing Fury cold. Somehow, I think by miracle he got up.

round by round scoring is like the electoral college.. more chips to wiggle towards the intended result

within the round by round system Tyson should've won. The judge who gave it to Wilder is corrupt. Wilder needed 5 rounds with 2 10-8s and to win a decision which didn't happen, he only controlled a much smaller portion of the fight. If the criteria was judging the fight as a whole + points to whoever finished stronger like PRIDE he would've won though.

boxing judging is more corrupt than MMA

how many times has Manny received unfair decisions since he gave his UN-PC thoughts about LGBT in relation to the bible?

If they did round by round correctly then Tyson should have won by unanimous decision. That second knockdown was savage, but somehow Tyson got back to his feet and made it to the end, but if the winner is the person who won the most rounds then it should have been an easy victory for Tyson.

wilder only needed to win 2 more rounds on top of the 2 KD rounds for the draw. the decision is actually very fair. the problem is emotional fight fans. they see Fury literally surviving Wilder the beast, therefore he should win those rounds. Without taking into account Fury actually had 50 lbs on Wilder, he was the far bigger man. There was nothing that he did that was great. He merely survived by 1 second.

Wilder definitely won 2 of the first 6.

Look at the punch stats Fury only outlanded Wilder by like 12 shots. that's 1 punch every round while never coming close to hurting him or dropping him.

the feck outta here. Wilder is the one that's less damaged and landed the far more damaging shots. it's not even like Fury outlanded WIlder by like 50 shots like in the Canelo-GGG fight.

He made a bunch of clown faces though.

I didn't see the fight but ummm... Aren't you suggesting that Fury won those rounds, or are you saying landing more strikes per round does not win you the round? Obviously in the rounds where Wilder got knockdowns he gets a 10-8, no one is disputing that.

I am also a big fan of scoring a close round a 10-10, or going Pride style and scoring the fight in entirety rather than round by round, but back to my original point, the fight was decided ahead of time that it would be scored round by round, was it not?

are you so autistic that you actually believe Fury landed 1 more strike every round?

the reality is he landed maybe a few more strikes one round and landed less strikes another round.

most of the rounds go to Fury, but some rounds go to Deontay too.

So even if Fury won 8 rounds. Wilder won at least 4. The only definitive rounds were the KD rounds. the difference isn't big enough to call for any type of robbery.

draw was fair.
