RE: The Great Crypto Crash
There isn't even any volatility to trade. No dips or rips any more. I honestly am feeling pretty smug about the whole thing.

But only because people wouldn't listen. Right at the peak of the mania, there WERE people calling it another Tulip Craze. But did HODLers listen? No, they were going to be driving Lambos, and laughing at the rest of us cuck soyboy twinks (sorry, just had to channel DJ there for a second).

Bitcoin is for the children.

Might as well be POGs.

RE: The Great Crypto Crash
I am happy to see this rise as I still hold a bit of crypto. But what is driving this spike, especially in Bitcoin more so than the others?

The other coin that is probably doing equally as well is Litecoin. I recall when it was $29 a few months ago and now it's $129.

We are still a long way from boom times though. Ethereum is still only $300 ish, when last time BTC was at 11k, ETH was $800-$1000.

Apparently institutional exposure?

Every time BTC gets mainstream exposure though, like now, it is time to sell, not buy, IMO.

Gold is up a lot too, although in % terms much less than BTC. So basically we are looking at USD weakness.

BTC hit 13K today. That's the highest it's been in well over a year.

RE: The Great Crypto Crash
That it is institutions (Wall St banks) is slightly worrying. First of all, the big traders at these banks aren't even currently at their desk!

Rather infamously, these bankers take June and July and part of August off! That is where the saying "Sell in May and go away" comes from, after all.

So what happens when the senior traders aren't at their desk? They leave things to the junior traders, and give them a few objectives, performance measures to achieve, markets or stocks to take a look at. So that seems to me what has happened here.

The junior traders have entered Bitcoin the only way they know how. Suddenly, and with a lot of money.

Are they HODLers? I really really doubt it. When the senior traders come back, not only will they sell, to lock in any gains, they will probably go short too, to profit on the way down.

RE: The Great Crypto Crash
Crypto is having a resurgence all of a sudden. I think it is somehow related to the Coronavirus.

BTC at $10,250 and ETH up from $170 to $285

Even my pet Chinese Crypto, NEO, is on the increase.

RE: The Great Crypto Crash
The more this Corona virus shit goes on, the more it looks like... Not gonna say fake, but rather, a small part of something much MUCH bigger.

Forced quarantine, forced vaccination, forced cremation, a move towards cashless society, etc.
