Do you see any Latinos in his most famous video? The guy just finished filming a collab with nicki minaj by the way.

Such a rich, vibrant culture on display there.

the kid is talented, you have to give him that

Are you out of your mind?

Anyone can mumble and use auto-tune.

it's all about the swag and delivery

it's easy to mumble, but he is doing it in the right way, that is why he is popular

it's quite subtle

A family member played me part of the new 'hit' from Drake.

Garbage. But if you listen to anything a number of times it will take hold in your brain. Your brain WANTS to like it. WANTS to be brainwashed Big Grin

Either these “rappers” get picked/scouted by recordlabels because they look a certain way or fabricated to serve a certain demographic. They are looking for that tacky, unpolished, lowlife, low iq type of persona which kids look up to and can identify with

No real talent is needed it’s all about artificial personas

69 takeshi
Drake (muhahaha)
Lil -> oxy xanax whatever
Meek mil
Xxx Rip
Post malone
Bhad Babie -> blood pooring from my ears
Etc etc

Compare these to 90’s rappers, lyricly, flow wise and delivery

These guys would be decimated.. its just not the real thing. Drake is or was arguably the best rapper... Lmfao and kids eat this shit like its Free candy

Most of these MSM rappers like lil punk and whatever are easy to recognise but for the generation after us its more or less all they got..

It just part of the grand scheme

These kind of lowlifes also get pushed in europe, different name, same shit

Although i really did like “this is America” by Childish Gambino

You can tell he isn’t fabricated

But claiming this 69 guy is actually good in rapping.. is a insult to the true artists. man i rather listen to my own finger nails scratching over a schoolboard for eternity then giving this guy credit for his rapping game

Its just mindless gibberish most of the time

i don't like this type of music but you have to learn how to judge objectively

it's like judging a fast food burger. there is a criteria even if it's not considered haute cuisine

things are popular for a reason

it's also INCREDIBLY hard to appeal to the lowest common denominator. this is what people don't get.

it's easy to be an underground or unique type of guy, but getting popular appeal requires a huge combination of factors all aligning in the right place and at the right time

Presentation and image seems to go a long way with modern rappers. Looking hood works.

i actually think this style is popular because it actually reflects people mindsets in the current day.

The world in a lot of ways has lost meaning.. there is no focus. it's just an endless stream of nonsense. fake news, foodie porn, attentionwhoring blah blah blah

mumble nonsense rap perfectly captures the state of the world today. it's one of the most accurate reflections of today's society.

This kind of “nonsense” rap/rappers in the broadest meaning is just another peace of the dumbing down agenda, indeed designed to reflect a mindstate

They create a echochamber this way.. a f*cking echochamber for millions of clueless kids who accept every role model they get presented.. lil xanax and his homeboys, rapping about easy to get drugs, easy money, low morals and antisocial behaviour

Consider the implications...

They are stealing a generation of kids with this mindless shit being poured out over them

to be fair, this type of rap is nowhere as violent, racist or drug promoting as the rap of yesteryear. it's very tame. it just looks hardcore visually.

a lot of it is actually quite poetic in a post-modern nonsense kind of way.

I'm not saying I like this stuff, but it's easy to dismiss the new stuff just because it's new.

RE: Lets talk about Tekashi69...
the new rap is very corporate and watered down

only the attitude and look is hardcore or "blase"

they really aren't talking about anything. a lot of it is just subconscious stream of mind type of stuff.

also musically it shares a lot with electronic minimal styles.

it's very loop driven, makes heavy use of the roland 808.. and borrows from nearly any genre out there.

RE: Lets talk about Tekashi69...
I listened to about 40 seconds of Lil Xan just now and he mocked Jesus probably three times (called himself the 'chosen one', the 'savior', and referenced 'triple 6').

These young rappers make a big deal of 'providing for their parents' but somehow forget to leave out the part about selling their soul (cheap)!
