^ i totally agree.

the vibe changes the fighter's motivation and sense of pride in what he is doing

Pride treated their fighters like warriors and according to Nick Diaz UFC treated their fighters like low class strippers.

it has to be demotivating to fight for such an organization

also the rules totally favor the wrestlefuck boxer type of fighter. there is little emphasis on martial arts

an athlete, specifically fighter's prime is determined by when he roids. Usually the roid blazing years can only last for so long before your body gives out.

Foreman for example, I believe he was natural up to his first retirement. When he came back to beat Moorer, he experienced a 2nd renaissance in his career because he was juicing. It gave the impression of longevity.

Tyson for example was juiced from the get-go, maybe even through his puberty. this is why his prime is so short. roids no longer gave him an edge. Evander Holyfield was natural during his cruiser reign. He is a case of peaking right against Tyson. He started using in his later years vs Tyson. That's why despite looking weaker earlier in his career, he manhandled Tyson twice despite being older.

This is also true with Anderson. He wasn't on roids in Pride. He didn't start using imo until he became UFC champ. Through his entire run in the UFC, he was using. Then eventually of course your body no longer reacts to roids the same way and bones become weak etc..... leg broke. etc.

There are many many examples of this with mediocre fighters who became great overnight like with even Bernard Hopkins. I really believe he was roid free through most of his actual physical prime but he started using toward the tail end, that's why he could sustain his longevity.

Dan Henderson is another great example. He didn't use in Pride in his prime that's why he had no KO power. Then he started using right when Wanderlei's prime was leaving. All Chutebox guys use and they use early. Wanderlei was still using but the effects were no longer the same as when they first fought. When Wand fought Hendo the 2nd time, Hendo was just starting on testosterone replacement therapy and he destroyed Wand. Shogun is meeting the same fate in his early 30's. He's still training but his body is just aging very veyr fast. Gomi is just another like him.

I don't believe there's such thing as a roid prime. So many counter examples. Brock's been on them for decades and was till super-human in every way when he fought Hunt. Holyfield was roiding from his move up to HW until at least the Valuev fight in the late 2000s. No way he was natural against Douglas, Bowe, Foreman.

there's definitely a roid prime. roids simply don't work anymore after a while that's why certain fighters hit sharp declines. even though aesthetically you can still look great but the performance will no longer be there. Mark Hunt would've lost to any D1 level wrestler that has that much height and reach on him.

Phil Baroni. How could he have been such a force and be so terrible so quickly? he trains like a mad man. even now.

Brock is simply an exceptional athlete. a true tier 1 athlete. even by the time he won the UFC title he was out of his roid prime. if he was in the UFC in his 20's and juicing. he probably would've beaten Cain.

I don't see how that's possible man, the same thing that makes you bigger also makes you stronger and faster with steroids. Increased protein synthesis. I think that maybe it will age you faster but that's not something that happens overnight like that. I think Phil B getting washed up was the effects of injuries, aging and brain damage, and not because roids didn't work all of a sudden..

yeah.. i always wondered why athletes look so old for their age. like a 27 year old guy literally looks around 40 often times in pro sports

in soccer, all the guys look really old.. could it be the roids?

or overexerting the body.

with soccer players probably working outdoors a lot and getting tons of UV exposure.
