The fixed location of the camera (in most shots). The slow panning? Perfect for killing time, and easy set design/front screen projection. A moving camera, like the rover shots, that is tough on a set that is smaller than the location you are trying to portray. That's why they had to go w/ scale models. Face it, there are no credible current plans by ANYONE to put a man on the Moon. Any nation or company on Earth! |

unless it's aliens, I see no reason why humans haven't gone back.
the alien thing gets discredited as we are still sending rovers and orbiters to the moon and they aren't getting shot down. |

RE: July 21, 1969: Man walks on the Moon for the 1st time?
you're talking about the concorde.
the diff. is there are planes way faster than the concorde. way more advanced. it just didn't make sense for commercial purposes. the apollo missions were cutting edge science that should have been improved upon to trickle down to all sectors of military tech dev. |

there are no airliners faster than the concorde.
you are right, it didnt make financial sense to continue with concorde, same as the apollo program who told you apollo tech did not trickle down to military tech ? military satellite, gps, icbm, and rocket tech, all advanced because of apollo |

Stop reaching bro! Its all just a reach! OK, so the kid has a hand-knitted sweater with Apollo 11 on it, that he wears ONCE in the movie, at the most pivotal part of the film, he stands up like a rocket and goes to a room 237, which is the (avg) distance to the Moon, in thousands of kms. In the room the boy encounters a 'three-faced' lunar goddess, that first seduces him then turns into a literal nightmare. So what? Its not like Kubrick was hanging out with Ridley Scott, who was at the cutting edge of subliminals used in advertising, at the time, or anything. Oh wait. Kubrick scheduling the release of Eyes Wide Shut for the 30th anniversary of the Apollo 11 launch is just a reach! Got it! ITS ALL REACHING! The first dialogue spoken in Clockwork Orange, happening to be about men on the Moon? Its all a reach! Stop reaching!!!! REEEEEE!!!! |
