Was Michael Jackson chemically castrated by his parents?
That's what his doctor said. This could explain how he kept his high voice after puberty.

The Catholic Church used to do this to young boys. They preferred a pre-pubecent singing voice, so they chopped a lot of balls off.

That would actually make perfect sense.

No. There is a huge difference between falsetto (MJ's high pitched singing voice) and a castrato voice. Falsetto is a register that many men can mimic (given enough training) - what you do is constrict your vocal cords so that your voice is higher in pitch. It's artificially induced. Whereas castrati sing normally at a higher pitch.

Castrati have a song-like voice that is reminiscent of a female soprano, with a clearer and more breathy timbre. You can hear a sample here (one of the very last castrati, recorded in the early 20th century):

It literally sounds nothing like MJ. He was just very good at falsetto.

Also, he just doesn't have the physique, either... Castrati are spindly looking with very long limbs and very little muscle tone. They have a particular "alienish" look that is unusual among adult men.

.
I think that he wouldn't have had a sex drive if they had castrated him. It's pretty obvious he was still sexual toward little boys.

If Michael Jackson was born a woman they'd probably call him a mezzo-soprano.

This sounds pretty spot on to me.

Quote: Contrary to popular belief, he did NOT solely rely on his falsetto register. Of course MJ used it frequently, but it was not an indication of his inability to sing in full voice. In fact, if you listen to the "Butterflies" acapella, you can hear that all the high notes are sung in full voice and not falsetto.

Negatives: Voice lacked power and was naturally androgynous. Sounds child-like on many recordings instead of like a full-grown man well into middle age. Often sacrificed diction for feeling.

Even in that video clip, his voice is straining as he goes into the high registers. This is not a castrato.

Reading about castrati right now .how do these guys grow so tall?im guessing all test production ceases after the snip? Shouldn't that stunt growth in a major way?

testosterone causes your growth plates in the arms and legs to close at the end of puberty... this doesn't happen with castratos

i don't think all of them are tall. chinese eunuchs varied a lot in height.

they don't go through a normal growth spurt, but their growth plates don't fuse normally, either. they just keep growing into adulthood at a slower pace. i guess it's all down to genetics.

That's why women continue growing into their early twenties, no testosterone to slow the grow plates.

I only grew an inch after I turned 16. I have a niece that's 6 ft. and still getting taller at 19.

I wonder what these puberty blockers are going to do to all these trans kids. Are we going to start seeing a bunch of seven-foot skinny freaks walking around?

Maybe people were right when they said that grey aliens are just time-travelers from the future.

Alessandro Moreschi still looked manly without his balls. In this portrait he looks like Lucca Brasi from the Godfather.
