RE: Fedor is DONE
yeah Vitor gets taken down and mounted very easily these days. Weidman did it, Jacare did it, Mousasi as well, all in rd1. But Gastelum and Gegard also dropped/ rocked him very badly on his feet, something that very few were able to do to him in the past. So I think his chin is probably shot by now. Also, bad back or not, being taken down was almost always the beginning of the end for Vitor, he would get put on his back and almost immediately lose the will to fight. He didn't use to get mounted and pounded out, but he'd buttscott and make a fool of himself.

RE: Fedor is DONE
They should have introduced a veterans league way back in the early 2000's when people were already wanting to see the fighters from the original UFCs fighting on. Two older combatants of similar age and physical condition can still be a great fight if the matchup is right.

The only problem is that you would get someone like a 41 year old version of Randy Couture, who would destroy most of the other older fighters. The ones who aged the best, or who he get the best TRT will be the only real contenders.

It should be division of fighters who are past their prime, (but never advertised as such ), rather than a div of older fighters. 45 year old Randy vs 32 year old Big Nog was a great match up at the time because they were at a similar stage physical deterioration. Randy vs Coleman a year later was terrible even though they were close in age. Coleman was toast and needed a hip replacement.

RE: Fedor is DONE
Randy without pharmaceutical enhancement vs Coleman would have been competitive if a little lackluster.

Randy was Dana's boy and Captain America, I'm sure he was allowed to take a monster cocktail of whatever steroids he wanted. Randy was so favored, I believe his longest winning streak without earning a title shot was 3.
