RE: Doo ho Choi vs. Cub Swanson happening in a couple hours
Choi did well in the first. got caught in the 2nd and couldn't fully recover as Cub upped the pressure

the thing is he still had great counters even when half out on the feet. it was amazing how he was hurting Cub even while he was on queer street.

Cub has an amazing chin as well. He looks very worn out so I kind of wrote him off but he is a force to be reckoned with. I think he was extra motivated to win this fight.

dung,

read this thread

people are saying this fight is one of the best fights ever. best fight ever = strong back and forth and action packed.

one sided beat downs don't make for greatest ever fights.

i would say it's prob top 3 in UFC history.

Awesome fight...it was back and forth, both looked like they were going to finish it at different points

---

agree with this UGer.

Choi seriously almost finished in the 2nd.

Cub won fair and square though but amazing back and forth.

Interesting that Choi couldn't land clean against the spastic Swanson. I'm a fan of both, but was definitely rooting for Choi. I thought Cub would get punished by uppercuts and rights for his hands down, bob and weave, switching stances stuff.

Choi's defense has always been superb, but I can't place why he missed so much tonight.

he did land clean but Cub took some of his best shots.

when it went past the first round I felt Choi losing some confidence. he trains specifically to end fights in the 1st round.

dung johnson is delusional. don't believe me, believe an establishment mouthpiece LATIMES

Quote:This is bound to be a legendary fight, one of the best bouts in the history of the sport. It was a wild brawl, but it also featured tremendous skill and heart on the part of both men. It's the classic example of a fight where both the winner and loser are elevated by the nature of their performances. It was the first setback in the UFC career of Choi, but his ascent continues. Meanwhile, that is the performance that people will point to when looking back at the career of Cub Swanson as a testament to the sort of fighter he was.

any rational mma analyst will see what I see. Choi lost no stock with this loss. In fact he gained with this loss.

people will be scared as fuck of him knowing he is next to impossible to put away. Choi will also be aware of his weaknesses and correct them going forward

RE: Doo ho Choi vs. Cub Swanson happening in a couple hours
ESPN:

TORONTO -- Featherweights Cub Swanson and Doo Ho Choi likely produced what will be crowned as 2016's fight of the year.

In the end, Swanson (24-7) picked up the unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) on Saturday at UFC 206 inside the Air Canada Centre. But Choi (14-2) will only gain notoriety from the fight. Swanson lit up the South Korean with right hands throughout the 15 minutes and knocked him down multiple times, but Choi refused to go away.

It was a fight Choi, 25, had specifically asked for. He was 3-0 in the UFC coming into the bout, with three first-round finishes.

"I knew he deserved all the hype," Swanson said. "He just made the mistake of calling me out. It made me question myself. I trained really hard. I'm still a student of the game."

lol @ soul crushing defeat

fight is an instant classic. Doo Ho Choi will only get more famous from here.

Choi almost finished it in the 2nd, Cub almost finished in the 3rd

Choi's stock did not go down after this fight. He got a lesson in experience and probably bought into his own hype. he will be back stronger than ever. people will be scared of him now that we know he has the best chin in the business

how did he almost finish it when Cub didn't even go down? i mean r u talking 2-3 knockdowns? bad damage?

What are you dreaming up. you sound very delusional.

ME DELUSIONAL? LOL

ESPN:

Quote:Choi landed a heavy, counter right hand, though, that put Swanson on the defensive and nearly ended the fight. Referee Dan Miragliotta took a long look at Swanson as he covered up on the fence.

Swanson made a remarkable recovery, however, and later hit Choi with a cartwheel kick and spinning elbow that drew a huge crowd response.

what fight were you watching bro? My post fight analysis was spot on.. these articles just came out and they echo exactly what i said.

Choi almost finished Cub in the 2nd

Choi's stock goes up after the fight

all the pro analysts agree with me.

meanwhile you think i'm delusional. EL OH EL

Choi's not going anywhere.

he said in his post fight interview he will never lose again

Those who know, know! Big Grin

Well we learned that Choi definitely has a chin and can weather adversity. But he was much too hitable, Cub was landing everything seemingly. I wonder if Choi decides to come to the states to train in the near future

that fight was brutal. i was wincing at the punches the Korean kid took.

it reminds me of Golovkin vs Rosado or Chavez vs Taylor.

even though GGG never officially dropped Rosado but this sustained beating ended his career pretty much.

Chavez Taylor same thing. Taylor's chin cracked at the end of the fight after showing iron for the first while. then his chin cracked just like doo's chin cracked. You can't take flush bombs to the face repetitively. he wasn't even rolling the punches.

and more one from yahoo news:
Quote:Then came a truly superlative second round. In a whirlwind span of just over a minute, Swanson dropped Choi, swarmed him and nearly finished him; Choi regained his bearings, rocked Swanson and nearly finished him; and then Swanson regained his composure and took Choi to the mat and nearly got his back.

i told you dong, it's nearly unanimously acknowledged that choi nearly finished swanson in the 2nd
