It is funny, because the general perception is that this forum is 'too crazy to join' but interesting to browse.

I blame karasu.

RE: Alcoholics Anonymous and the Occult
yeah it seems to be the case.

readership is high, but people don't want to join or it's hard to join.

some have said the forum is intimidating.

you have to have thick skin to post here.

I think it's very hard to join. It was easier when people could send you a message on twitter.

.
Agreed, Jho. It has to be a little easier if the forum is going to grow.

Nothing intimidating about it. Even when we had more abrasive posters around it was still quite chill.

The forum is conspiracy/politics oriented but has a wide variety of topics for everyone.

And our conspiracy angle is different from other places.

For most "proper presentable people" conspiracy theories are silly marginal things and they would just laugh them off. But life being life, if a person wants to understand how the world works then he has to cross the conspiracy theory barrier. And once a person crosses that barrier, man do they have conspiracies for you. Chem trails, flat earth, ancient aliens, reptiles and on and on it goes.

In a sense conspirology performs a dissolving function, diffusing peoples attention.

This site attempts to see beyond what's "presentable and proper" and at the same time cut through diffusive conspiracy theories.

That's my impression also. You can post what you want and somebody may discuss it with you here or not. But typically nobody tries to troll each other here. It's much easier to drill down in discussions here than on the OG for instance.

That is because the OG has a lot of idiots with a very high opinion of themselves.

RE: Alcoholics Anonymous and the Occult
I said that because I got more than a few PMs telling me that they were kind of intimidated to post here.
It's not that we attack people or flame them, I think it's because many here are at a pretty advanced level.

over at EY, like REzin says, we do meta analysis of conspiracy theories.
