Question Speeding up your computer
Microsoft made a program that shows you all the programs running on your computer from startup. The list of these programs that are "autorunning" is far longer than I expected and longer than the startup items listed in MSCONFIG. For example I do not have realupdate or skype made to autorun, yet the Microsoft program below showed me that they were still running from Startup:

Any tricks you recommend to speed up one's computer?

you could have done all that without any fancy program.

Type msconfig in the start menu bar and it shows all your computers resources and how they are distributed.

If it's not in msconfig you'll probably find it in services.msc

I dont' think it's worth it to micromanage your processes. The items are very non-descript and Windows is kind of cryptic about what they do; I don't think Microsoft wants you to really know how Windows works.

I keep that handy. It fixes registry issues like a charm and has never broken anything ever.

I use Ubuntu with Cinnamon Desktop. Classic layout, nice and simple, very stable, no bullshit.
