After all these years, I still can't get used to how bad Bruce Buffer is. No voice at all.

I liked both styles in the main event but I thought that the commentary was horribly one sided toward the fighter that was in the employ of the announcer. Which seems like it should be an obvious conflict of interest. We're having a really interesting discussion about it here...

Unbelievable that they gave that to Cruz. Besides Dilladawg getting frustrated in Rd2 and Rd3 and swinging wide, the fight was totally in his favor. He landed more, did more damage and his technique was as crisp as ever; beautiful to watch. Cruz limited the exchanges through constant circling, but got tagged every time they traded and his takedowns were short-lived.

RE: UFC Fight Night Boston - Cruz v Dillashaw, Alvarez v Pettis
Everyone, I mean everyone from the UFC staff, Dana, Joe, Goldberg, Judges, Sherdoggers all got caught up in the pity-party Dominick Cruz had created for himself. ACL surgery has to be the most common injury for combat athletes, and it has retired many great fighters. Good for Cruz for healing and still being able to evade for 25 minutes, but it's being made out to be the most 'amazing comeback in MMA history'.

Remember when Aldo hurt himself before the last big fight and Dana had the attitude of "that Moron should have trained smarter."
Why has Cruz been able to pull this major sympathy card in a sport that is so callous and unforgiving?

Besides that I hate Cruz' personality. The dude comes of as a mild narcissist like Frank Shamrock. He looks like a mini Frank too. Last night I saw everyone's reality warped by Cruz'. He must have good NLP skills because I just don't see how everyone morphed their perception of MMA Fighting and Winning to fit his lame performance and make his fantasy a reality.

alvarez didn't really deserve to win.

did nothing with those takedowns in the 3rd

he arguably lost the standup in the first 2 rounds too

I don't think Alvarez was ready for the step-up in competition. He's got a limited arsenal and was torn apart by Donald Cerrone's knees. He knew he didn't have a chance against Pettis' fast kicking game, so he tried a different strategy to squeeze out an ugly decision.

He might have been better off losing, going back to the drawing board, and learning some new skills.

yea he looked really pathetic just going frantically for the takedown in desperation mode

Eddie usually likes to trade too.

pettis does have a slick kicking game tbh. I think he could beat Connor.

Those who know, know! Big Grin

I agree. I'm really surprised that he didn't take any punishment for bob & weave entries like he did against Cerrone. I thought Pettis was going to land some solid kicks.

2nd Round I expected Pettis to step it up but instead he just kind of looked confused and apprehensive like a Cat being chased by a Turtle. - Can't reward him with a victory either.

We just need more Draws. Maybe they should change the point system to where a 29-28 split decision becomes a Draw? With the way UFC works, it just isn't fair that one guy gets a title shot and the other has to start over after a razor-close decision or painfully boring fight.
