When Diet Butcher and I saw him in Macau in the food court, we damn near shit our pants.

We dropped our trays and ran up to him, but he was conversing with some lady in Portuguese, so we held back, both looking like kids at Christmas.

He noticed us, and while he was talking to her, he slipped over and shook our hands. It was AWESOME!

After talking to her a bit more, he started talking to us too, then we all spoke together for a bit. She took off and then we took some pics.

Evilyoshida.com hadn't even been made yet, but Diet Butcher and I thought it would be a good idea to put on our sunglasses and hold up this sign anyway.

TRUE STORY!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. That man is my hero.

It was AOW, but not sure which one. Andy Wang was on the card.

Bas Rutten was there too, and Vanderlei Silva.

That was an amazing night. It was me, Soyka, Callidus Canis, The Diet Butcher, and I think Bryce too.

The whole event was awesome, meeting everyone was awesome, storming the ring after the fight was awesome, IT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!

I went to Macau twice for The UFC (Le/Franklin, Le/Bisping) and the whole feel of a UFC event here is stale and corporate. Not awesome at all.

I really hope other promotions rise up soon or something totally differents.

Zuffa has to go. They are way worse to The UFC than The Yakuza was to Pride.

WAY WORSE! THEY ARE KILLING OUR BELOVED SPORT! HOLY SHIT THAT FUCKING SUCKS!

You are not allowed to post gifs of UFC material on The Underground. That's a no no.

That takes crazy and corporate greed to a whole new level.

I used to try my hardest to get people into The UFC and MMA. Now, I would advise they stay away, lol.

I think all credit belongs to Rorion.
Royce was just 1 of thousands of grapplers that could of won.
Rorion displayed it for the world to see how dominant grapplers are over strikers.
But using good marking he made it "Gracie" jiu jitsu like it was far superior because they didn't allow normal bjj guys in.

Big john was a grappler who wanted in. He would've won ( and beaten Royce if they were in the tournament together) and repped bjj.
Remember little ninjutsu Steve jennum that won ufc 3 (I think).

I too heard it that Rickson was the first pick but wanted mo' money. This tale of events seems more likely when u look at the rest of Rickson's career (or lack there of). He was constantly in the media saying he was going to return to fight soon, against Tyson, fedor, etc. even until he was 50 years old, but just wanting that million dollar paycheck.

The Gracie's are true pioneers of modern mma. But their marketing skills have always been far superior to their fighting skills.

I don't recall storming the ring... I was too wasted. But me and Bryce had a pic taken with the Master Killer himself, Gordon Liu, who was also in attendance. That must have been when u guys stormed the ring.

I think it was just me and Soyka that got into the ring, maybe Canis too.

I've lost respect for Royce over the years. Here is my perception of him now:

His repeated use of Steroids: He's not Honest
His comments on Sakuraba: He's not Humble
His bullying of Eddie Bravo: He's not Nice
His views on Marijuana: He's not Intelligent
His competition Record: He's not that Skilled
His Academy's Reputation: He's not a great Teacher

Sorry to be a dick. But c'mon. I'm sure there's plenty more I'm missing.

I see what you mean. Rorion had the vision to make Jiujitsu Global and succeeded 100%. In the process, he broke-up the family.

Youre getting irrational here. Helio and Carlos had like 30 kids between them, hard for a family that large to stick together. And besides he made them all rich. Theres gotta be a dozen or more Gracies or more who are millionaires today riding the coat tails of UFC1, including the ones on Carlos side of the family who occasionally still talk shit. Basically if your last name is Gracie you can move to the United States and make a comfortable living teaching martial arts.
