Filipinos are the only race in history that got colonized by Mexicans.

Michael Schumacher is making eye-contact and responding to voices, according to the very latest media reports.

Earlier, after a worrying three-month long coma, the F1 legend’s manager Sabine Kehm revealed that Schumacher is now having "moments of consciousness and awakening".

The news cheered the F1 paddock in Bahrain, but now there are apparently even more signs of improvement in the former Ferrari and Mercedes driver’s previously life-threatening brain injuries.

Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Schumacher is making encouraging eye movements, while Germany’s Bild am Sonntag newspaper claims the great 45-year-old German is even responding to voices.

Family friend Jean Alesi, a former F1 driver, has visited Schumacher several times in hospital, and he is now much more optimistic about the future.

"First, Michael responded only to pain, when he was pinched for example," he is quoted by Speed Week. "But that can also be an unconscious reaction of the body.

"During my last visit I realised that something was beginning to change for the better. I felt with the family some relief, a great joy about how things were developing.

"It is fabulous," the Frenchman claimed, "even though the path back to life is still long."

Felipe Massa, a former Ferrari teammate of Schumacher’s and another close friend, seemed to confirm that the seven time world champion is now responding to voices.

"I cannot really put into words how excited I am about it," the Brazilian admitted in Bahrain.

"I prayed every day for Michael and they were answered. Now I hope to continue to hear good news from Grenoble," Massa added.
The White House may prohibit selfies with President Obama, a top adviser said on Sunday.

Speaking on CBS' Face The Nation, Dan Pfeiffer said that the president didn't know the photo he took with Red Sox star David Ortiz was part of a Samsung promotion.

“Someone who uses the President’s likeness to promote a product... that’s a problem,” he said. “Maybe this will be the end of all selfies."

The selfie controversy began after Obama took a fun photo with Big Papi. The image quickly went viral, receiving over 45,000 retweets and more than 48,000 favorites on Twitter. Samsung later announced that it was all an orchestrated PR stunt.

The DARK Act: Deny Americans Right to Know

http://salsa3.salsalabs.com/o/1881/p/dia..._KEY=13694

"Big Food is trying to kill your right to know if the food you’re eating is genetically engineered.

With their anti-labeling allies like Monsanto and Dow, the Grocery Manufacturers Association has teamed up with Koch brothers-backed Congressman Mike Pompeo of Kansas to introduce a federal bill that would deny your right to know.

The bill, which we're calling the “Deny Americans the Right-to-Know Act (DARK Act),” would:

•Prevent states from adopting their own GE labeling laws.
•Block any attempt by states to make it illegal for food companies to put a “natural” label on products that contain GE ingredients.
•Prevent the Food and Drug Administration from requiring companies to label GE ingredients and instead continue a failed “voluntary” labeling policy.

The bill--crafted by the Grocery Manufacturers Association-led Coalition for Safe and Affordable Food, has just been introduced by Rep. Pompeo, and has reportedly picked up two co-sponsors: Reps. Butterfield (D-NC 1st district) and Blackburn (R-TN 7th district). All three lawmakers serve on the Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over GE food labeling.

It’s no surprise that industry chose the Kansas Republican as their cheerleader. Pompeo was the single largest recipient of campaign funds from Koch Industries in 2010. It’s clear that corporate money = legislative favors with Congressman Pompeo.

And now the Koch brothers are teaming up with Monsanto? Monsanto was the single largest contributor against the recent Washington State ballot initiative to label GE foods. Between Washington State and California, Monsanto, along with GMA and other agribusiness companies, have contributed over $67 million to keep consumers in the dark.

So what’s wrong with “voluntary” GE food labeling? In a word: everything. It is grossly misleading for industry—let alone members of Congress—to continue trumpeting the idea that voluntary labeling will solve the overwhelming consumer demand for labeling in the marketplace. In the 13 years that FDA has allowed companies to voluntarily label genetically engineered foods, not one single company has done so.

Without mandatory labeling of GE foods, consumers are being left in the dark about the foods we are purchasing and feeding our families. In 2013, over 50 GE labeling bills were introduced in 26 states, including Hawaii, Washington, Indiana, Missouri, and Vermont.

This industry-backed bill will cut these state labeling bills off at the knees and replace them with an undemocratic, hollow “voluntary” labeling scheme that does nothing to address consumer interests and only serves to allow corporations to deny us our right to know.

Tell Congress to drop this corporate hand-out of a bill!
^ Much needed blow back. There is a label GMO food sign on my front lawn.

They should also serve only GMO food in their corporate cafeterias as well.
A former executive of the Dutch bank ABN AMRO has committed suicide after killing his wife and daughter, and the head of Liechtenstein's Bank Frick has been found shot dead in a car park. The suspect in the Frick shooting had a grudge against the bank.

Jan Peter Schmittmann, the 57-year old former head of domestic operations at ABN AMRO was found dead on Saturday in the wealthy Amsterdam commuter town of Laren. He was discovered along with the bodies of his 57-year-old wife, and 22-year-old daughter.

“The mother and daughter were killed by the father, after this the father killed himself,” Reuters cites a police statement. Police said that Schmittmann left a suicide note, but did not provide any further detail.

Family members said that Schmittmann had suffered from serious depression.
