"Tiger Mom is back with more bold allegations, this time outlining in a new book how eight racial groups are far more superior than the rest of the world.

Amy Chua, infamous for the fiercely strict parenting she plugged in her 2011 book, “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother,” now says that certain groups of people are more prone to riches and smarts — basically, the good life.

“It may be taboo to say, but some groups in America do better than others,” reads a description for the book, “The Triple Package,” on Amazon.com.

Chua, a law professor at Yale University, and her husband, co-author Jed Rubenfeld, list these groups as the most likely to succeed in America: Jewish, Indian, Chinese, Iranian, Lebanese-Americans, Nigerians, Cuban exiles and Mormons.

Chua and Rubenfeld explain that the “cultural groups” have three traits in common, the so-called “triple package”: a superiority complex, insecurity and impulse control.

Each group believes they’re “exceptional, chosen, superior in some way,” but at the same time, isn’t entirely confident — they still feel the need to prove themselves.

And as opposed to “immediate gratification” — save that for the weak — America’s most prosperous groups are intensely disciplined and determined, and don’t give into fleeting impulse.

Chua and Rubenfeld, who claim to draw on “groundbreaking research and startling statistics,” are bound to attract criticism for the new book, which also touches on why some groups, including African-Americans, might not have what it takes to reach the top."

Nigerians have the advantage that so many of them are princes, sure they may not have ready access to the millions their father left them, but with some help & a small deposit they will share the wealth
^ LOL.

yeah. she has a point.

to excel you also need an inferiority complex. I find that white hebrews and chinese share this in general. they feel they have an illustruous history, but also feel looked down upon.

however, this cannot explain the japanese who have more of a superiority complex. they excel without excessive feelings of inferiority.

^ Ha Ha Ha.

*anxiously awaits Calo's comments on Mormons and each of the other groups mentioned*
Tiger Mom already drawing enemy fire:

"Yale Law professor Amy Chua, who would live in obscurity among the general public if it weren’t for her persona as the disgustingly smug Tiger Mom, is trolling America with yet another theory personal rant about her cultural superiority. Two years after releasing “The Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother,” a great step-by-step manual for parents who want to systematically weed out any genuine interest or passion for life that their children might innately have, Chua is releasing a book co-written with fellow Yale professor and husband Jed Rubenfeld called, “The Triple Package.”

In it, Chua and Rubenfeld use what reviewer Maureen Callahan calls “specious stats and anecdotal evidence” to argue that Jewish, Indian, Chinese, Iranian, Lebanese-Americans, Nigerians, Cuban exiles and Mormons are superior to other races or cultures, and “everyone else is contributing to the downfall of America.” The name of the book is derived from the three characteristics Chua and Rubenfeld make the groups so much better than everyone else: a superiority complex, insecurity (Callahan points out that these two qualities are just two different side of the same coin) and the ability for impulse control.

Callahan’s review can be summed up in her declaration that the book is “a series of shock-arguments wrapped in self-help tropes, and it’s meant to do what racist arguments do: scare people.”
Chinese and jews share much in common. I find that white hebrews prefer chinese women over japanese or korean.

Chinese people controlling for education tend to be far more cosmopolitan and international than korean or japanese.
All her quaffle which she had to write a whole book about, & arbitrarily make into three factors can be summed up in two words.
Work ethic
i've been saying this shit for years.

over achievers, high achievers have MASSIVE inferiority complexes.

if you were secure you wouldn't bust your balls that hard.

people need to rethink what they think they know.

the truth is quite easy to see.
Quote:Each group believes they’re “exceptional, chosen, superior in some way,”

uh. chinese don't believe they are chosen. they just think they have a long history and their country is big.

once again making crass generalizations.

the only thing that makes sense is that overachievers tend to be highly insecure. but we all knew that.
Quote:Jewish, Indian, Chinese, Iranian, Lebanese-Americans, Nigerians, Cuban exiles and Mormons.

i like how they covered all the bases to avoid racism charges.

what they really mean is Jewish/Chinese. maybe mormons as well.
I like talking to the Mormons in Hong Kong. They're really nice.
I've been to a Mormon wedding too. Is that cool or what?
It is interesting that the authors do not include economic tribalism (preferring your tribemates, at least in close economic decisions) as one of their traits for success.

At least two of the groups mentioned unquestionably practice such tribalism and most likely all eight do.
