I just get the feeling they were trying too hard to make it look otherworldly. Damn.
China is sending a probe in a few months again, apparently but:
"After Chang'e 4, China will follow with a series of other robotic lunar missions that will build towards an attempted human landing in the early 2030s"
Right... I remember after Surveyor it took NASA 12-15 years to accomplish Apollo... Not.
Exposing that event as fake would cause a cascade of illusions to fall, that would be the biggest lie they could possibly cover up, and people wouldn't be able to deal with it, in fact even if chine or Russia or somewhere else claimed it was false and provided proof, it would be dismissed and swept under the rug.
I mean, is that the best they could do? Apollo pictures were all touched up afterwards, but Surveyor, they just leave you with these patchwork unbalanced mosaics.
I wonder why? So people don't notice a discrepancy between Apollo and Surveyor, maybe??

they keep pushing the dates forward
Bush said we'd back on the moon by 2017. DID NOT HAPPEN!
also imagine if people really did land on the moon in 2018.... it would be ridiculously amazing and people would be praising it as a REMARKABLE achievement.. forgetting that we went OH SO EASILY in 1969 with this tech:
Bezos Blue Origin:
"The whole trip will last about 11 minutes. No crew."
Something like 300k feet up, less than 100 miles! LOL
Look at that Sun. That is how the Sun should have appeared in EVERY Apollo photo (on Earth you need special conditions for a 'Sunstar' but on the Moon/in space it simply comes down to the aperture and shutters of the camera).
Big ole brass balls. Thats why he 'died in suspicious circumstances'. Thats why he was hanging lemons in the window of the Command Module and ready to go public
This guy did as he was told.
That is why he was chosen for the Apollo TV program.
The closest Neil Armstrong came to revealing the truth was in 1994:
"Wilbur Wright once noted that the only bird that could talk was the parrot, and he didn't fly very well. So I'll be brief."
Is he saying "If I talked, they would not let me fly" (i.e. they would have killed him, possibly in a plane crash?).
"Today we have with us a group of students, among America's best. To you we say we have only completed a beginning. We leave you much that is undone. There are great ideas undiscovered, breakthroughs available to those who can remove one of the truth's protective layers. There are many places to go beyond belief. Those challenges are yours--in many fields, not the least of which is space, because there lies human destiny. "
OK, so we established that 2001 laid the groundwork for the Apollo program. It was the first 'realistic' space movie, and it showed that the Moon's surface is 'boring'.
Look at them walking! Did no one from NASA, or Arthur C Clarke or any of the boy geniuses (Frederick Ordway the Third) they hired tell them about 1/6th lunar gravity??? Really? The film praised for its 'ultra-realistic' quality?
The film is often criticized for its slow pacing. Gee, I wonder why they did that?
"Stanley Kauffmann of The New Republic called it "a film that is so dull, it even dulls our interest in the technical ingenuity for the sake of which Kubrick has allowed it to become dull."[155] Renata Adler of The New York Times wrote that it was "somewhere between hypnotic and immensely boring."
Maybe that was the point? Naah....
"After completing Dr. Strangelove (1964), director Stanley Kubrick became fascinated by the possibility of extraterrestrial life,[15] and resolved to make "the proverbial good science fiction movie"
(translation: after making Dr. Strangelove the CIA needed this guy on their side, because he was too dangerous to allow to do what he wanted, and he also happened to be a world leader in the use of special effects)
This is what New Yorker mag says: "Kubrick was tracking NASA’s race to the moon, which threatened to siphon some of the wonder from his production."
LOL, can you imagine the Apollo Program somehow being completed before the R&D period that developed it. Talk about the cart before the horse.
" NASA’s Web site has a list of all the details that “2001” got right, from flat-screen displays and in-flight entertainment to jogging astronauts. In the coming decades, conspiracy theorists would allege that Kubrick had helped the government fake the Apollo 11 moon landing" - New Yorker article quoted above. So just Apollo 11 then, New Yorker?
What about Kubrick's next film? A Clockwork Orange. Surely there are no Moon references in it?
